the point is that they are simular but comming from differant perspectives

the point of the movie was that he failed his son just like his father failed him. Halle on the other hand tried with all her heart not to fail her son and did her best. where each had thier downfalls the other was there to console. he put his dad in the nursing home because he didn't want to continue living in that way, plus his dad needed it (when he fell down)

how does he buy his way out? the truch was sitting there and he chose to name the gas station that because she was a major part of him seeing life differantly.... your forgetting that his son blew himself away right in front of him after he told him he always hated him... I honestly don't understand where you all are comming from with this distorted view of this extremely good movie. fuck it would you have rather she did B.A.P.S. 2?
