I just took it as the creators saying that the plot itself didn't matter, it was how the characters developed and dealt with their shotcomings. Which is why it was pretty much just a psychic walkthrough of each of the main characters personality, and how they come to grips with themselves. However, in the real world so much shit was going down it did feel kinda cheap they never said what was happening in the final fight.

The movie ending answered some questions, but was so out there and left so much to interpretation that it was even MORE of a cliffhanger.

Still a great series tho.
