Walt willingly shows up to their compound (the fuck is up with this compound by the way?), BOOM, they got him. Yet for no reason whatsoever they go along with this unnecessary ruse of a 'business meeting', stand in their proper places, bring out Jesse to defend some sense of honor that in my mind wasn't all that firmly established beforehand... Look, I loved this ep, but not every element of it is gonna be a 10/10. And that's not to say I could've written it any better, sheeeit.

I hear you about the nazis being a "dark force" but the flipside of that coin is that their lack of screen time and character development left them feeling a little flat. They had a function – I don't think it was so much to show Walt the grimy side of the game, I think he'd learned that already and from more interesting teachers – I think this crew served as a means to an end, basically allowing the writers to wrap things up the way they did.
