Maybe I just haven't seen Dark Knight in long enough.

- I didn't think Bruce died at the beginning
- I didn't think Joker had a personal vendetta, he just wanted to cause chaos
- I didn't think the climax took place at Wayne Manor (if anything, Batman Begins is closer in this regard)
- I didn't think it was about Bruce's mommy surrogate
- I didn't think Joker was gay/effeminate (although Joker cross dresses... is that why people are comparing the two?)
- I didn't think Bardem recruited from gangs or robbed banks
- I didn't think French chick dying was remotely close to Holmes/Gyllenhaal's impact
- the endings are totally dissimilar

Like, I'm trying to think what the comparisons are. They both went to China? Both bad guys had plans involving getting captured-- although that's not uncommon in recent cinema (I don't recall Avengers getting roasted for this).

Maybe I haven't seen it in long enough... but just because both flicks "went for it" in terms of cinematography in a genre flick never really brought up the comparison in my eyes.

But then again, I haven't seen Dark Knight in years. So if someone could help me understand how Skyfall totally aped Dark Knight, it'd help me understand this criticism better.
