yeah, beasts dominated my ballot and that's a fantastic point you're making if you saw absolutely nothing else on my ballot. three of my five best picture nominees cracked $150 million at the box office (django, wreck-it ralph, hobbit), the other $50 million (the grey). django unchained ($390 million worldwide) also dominated my ballot and i picked it as my best picture of the year. so you make a great point other than all that.
look, i'm not out to impress anybody with the emptiness of the theaters i frequent. and i'm not holding a grudge against the indies either (beasts + drive and margin call last year). i just pick the five best movies. wish everyone else would do the same.
