Angier/Count was obsessed as was one of the Borden's. However, the other Borden, the one who loved his wife, wasn't as obsessive. He was the one that showed up at the funeral while the other brother was the one tied the knot because he was always pushing for more.

In the end, the father who was able to let things go and was remorseful wins out while the two obsessed magicians die. And the final killing was done, not out of obsession over magic, but as both revenge for the brother and in order to get his daughter back.

Part of me thinks the movie might have been better had they let us in on the brothers earlier because I think their struggle might have been more interesting than Jackman's pure obsession.
