The Academy, if that's who I can presume you mean regarding "being robbed", doesn't have a great history of getting awards or even nominations to the right people or movies.

Plus, I've always maintained that if De Niro had taken Danny Aiello's part, as he was originally approached, then Do The Right Thing might have even won an Oscar. (I know Aiello got nominated himself, but having De Niro's name attached would have only elevated it in status even more.)

Also, it was just Spike's third major movie, and I don't know how well She's Gotta Have It or School Daze played to the Hollywood set.

Biggest injustice done to a single black movie or actor in my lifetime: Don Cheadle not getting nominated for Devil in a Blue Dress. (Acting-wise some may say Denzel in Malcolm X, but that year Pacino was a shoe-in.)
