55983, First question -- what's your favorite documentary?

And how do you rate documentaries in general?

Secondly, this is by NO MEANS a sports documentary. It's a social documentary. It features FOUR YEARS' worth of footage that is edited down to a very watchable, very dramatic, very interesting three hour movie.

It has good photography (shots of crosses at the Catholic schools, nice shots of the commute on the way in, shots of William working at the Catholic school, state tournament shots of the stands, etc.) It has insanely memorable moments (Arthur's dad copping at the playground he's playing on, Arthur's mom graduating nursing school, Arthur playing his dad one-on-one, Arthur going to Mineral College JC etc.). It meaningfully explores class and race in America (Coach Pingatore and his relationship with William, Arthur's dad going in to settle the balance from Arthur's tuition, etc.). It ESPECIALLY explores the American family (William's older brother, William's dad, Arthur's dad, William's kid, etc.). The recruitment process with William at Marquette and everything?

I mean, if you seriously came away from that movie thinking "hood kids didn't make it at basketball" and that's all, well I just don't really know what to say...
