I'm just speculating, guessing who is more likely to be labeled an honorary white. I don't think of her that way, but I could see how others might, moreso than Penelope Cruz, whose accent is so heavy you can never ignore her ethnicity.

But then again, I don't think she wants to be thought of as a "black actress." I have no quotes or anything to back that up, and I don't think she's trying to hide the fact that she's black (as if she could), but looking at her career up to this point, I don't think she is interested in playing roles in which her blackness is important. Can't fault her for that. Being black certainly can hold your career back, she doesn't need to add fuel to that by calling attention to her race. We have to remember, she's mixed AND she's not from America, and so being black can mean something vastly different to her.
