She's saying that, based on the roles she has played, Cruz is an honorary white. But Vanilla Sky is the only movie she's been in that I can think of where her ethnicity wasn't a factor in the story. Yes, they've fudged what that ethnicity was, but she typically doesn't play the generic exotic role. Can you name another movie? Blow, maybe. I don't know much about the movie, but my guess is that she was supposed to be Colombian, based on dude's real wife.

I get what you're saying about the exotic minoroties, but Penelope Cruz is a bad example.
