I can't waste money on bottled water especially at work where 6-8oz cost over a $1.75. So I just get a cup fill it with ice and run the hot water container used for hot tea.
Before I got a filter I would boil a big pot of water, pour it in a picture and let it cool.

I'm a little leary about tap water from any state based on information from a classmates research project on the Minnesota and Wisconsin water supply. When using tap water in California there was always a strange taste and if I left a slightly wet dish rag in the sink(dry)overnight it would feel gooey and would take a long time to rinse the goo out of it. Because the Chicago River is so nasty and Lake Michigan has an Ecoli problem every summer I refuse to drink tap water here.
