BRITA is ONLY good for amending taste. It contains ac (activated carbon) and ion exchange resins. It will do absolutely NOTHING for bacteria. It helps to remove chlorine (but your aerator should do most of that) and other metals, if present, but NOTHING for bacteria. In fact bacteria can grow in it on the ac...
