Parables of Ra

Parables serve the purpose of saving time as well as giving the reader the opportunity to toss the idea around in their head. Often, the reader will extract out of the parable exactly what they need to hear. Parables have the unique characteristic of being seen in many different ways, they also often confer mystical secrets without actually revealing them. In truth, no one can reveal anything to another, just as NO ONE CAN GIVE YOU WISDOM. However, a sincere teacher leads the student to the threshold of their own understanding. Enjoy & be lifted!!

Only the asker can truly answer the question.

*instead of seking from without, put trust and confidence on one's own abilities

He who knocks, is he who truly opens the door.

*the moment YOU begin searching, YOU start the process. reminds me of a scene in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story where he drops a pebble on the ground to symbolize the initiation of his plans to build his first school. If you drop a peeble in a pond soon the ripples cover the whole pond...

The world is confused because you are.

*self explanatory. lack of understanding of the environment rests in ones own inability to see clearly.

You desire what you don't have and have what you have chosen.

*speaks of what is known as "insatiable desire". where no matter how much you have, you still want more.

Hell is being submerged in what you have denied, avoided and ignored about yourself.

*selfexplanatory

Knowing is to Love as fear is to ignorance.

*self explanatory

Only an ass continues to say 'but."

*instead of countering, for the sake of deconstruction...seek understanding.

Let the babies have their milk.

*self explanatory

"Its not that I don't like you, you don't like you."

*VERY self explanatory

To desire not to desire is the essence of all desire.

*very cryptic to me. sounds very much like some Zen texts i've read though...

To avoid The Self is to seek pain.

*have a clear view of self without disillusion

Master, what is the highest LAW? "To Love God with all thy heart, mind and spirit."

Master, what is the highest COMMANDMENT? "To Love thy neighbor as you Love thyself."

Master, what is the highest TRUTH? "There is no separation."

*ONENESS, a difficult concept to really grasp, is one of the "best" models i've come across...this parables illustrates how important that concept is.

Emotion is the shadow of a thought as fear is the shadow of doubt.

*fear explains doubt...fear being one of the two "demotivators" in life (the second being laziness). emotion is the "driving force" behind every thought, action, deed.

Feeling is higher than knowing.

*self explanatory

No thing can exist without movement. All movement is emotion.

*self explanatory

A Thought = A Universe.

*self explanatory, and points to how the relative ideas within oneself is as valid an ABSOLUTE universe for that person, as another's thoughts are for them. issues arise when to universes meet.

You can never unravel what you continue to weave.

*if one continues to try to understand a foreign concept with the same original tools, then one limits his/her range of understanding. a buddhist parable about "emptying one's cup, comes to mind"

Those who focus on problems create more.

*focus on solutions

Understanding is the wisdom of the intellect and wisdom the intellect of the soul.

*self explanatory

Don't ask questions, question answers.

*AWESOME! in an age where "answers" are just accepted because of their self proclaimed authenticity and antiquity, one should at least hold them up to ones' own standards.

After being ignorant, you will be confused. After being confused, you will be lost.

*self explanatory

One can not find that which is not lost.

*self explanatory

Blessed are those who bless. Cursed are those who curse.

*self explanatory

Listening is the fertilizer for friendship.
