I don't need god. I need myself. I don't need god in order to be happy. I don't need god in order to be a good person.

That's not to say I'm always happy or always a good person. But when I'm not, I need to check myself. Not check a book or check a preacher to tell me what to do.

Am I lost? I don't think so. Why would god create me, and then take away my ability to reason and act for myself? Why would god want to make a bunch of sycophants who can't cross the street without asking for help?

If god doesn't exist, I'm glad I have the self-confidence and power to rely on myself. If god does exist, I think she would be happy with my self-reliance and proud of her creation.

And if god is really like the asshole from most religious texts, scaring people into worshipping and following him, then "when I die, fuck it I wanna go to hell" (c) Biggie.
