I realize that all kids don't or didn't fear their parents like I did. But I think that so many things in our culture targets kids with overly mature material, thus creating an interest in other adult things.

Like when I was 10, I had no real interest in HBO other than those Brain Teasers that came on in the afternoon and Fraggle Rock.
Kids now hear about the Sopranos and Sex and the City so they try to tune in and see all kinds of crap that, again, make me cringe sometimes. I'm in my late twenties!
