I spoke earlier with the embassy and they told me explicitly that they could not issue a fatwa, only a religious council. They didn't believe the fatwa to be official because they claim the varying ratifiers are not part of any religious body.
I had trouble reaching the embassy in London for verification.
I would like to hear from those whose names are on the fatwa if they are responsible for its issuance or not. They must either accept or reject; confirm or deny.
Anyway, I'm still working on a formal written response on the issue.
