Black Men, of all varieties, need to start reading bell hooks. 4 real. I think her perspective isn't given much play in our communities because of her blunt critique of capitalist/patriarchal pursuits, and what it has done to our sense of family, patience, love, and *collective* self-determination and struggle. And how patriarchy often seduces us into participating in our own oppression as Black *Men* as well as Black Women. She breaks it down in "Salvation", everybody needs to cop that. . .like Ms. Giovanni told ya, "Black Love is Black Wealth"
