but that part of the world at that time was a melting pot. egypt & ethiopia weren't what they were, phenotypically speaking, a thousand or even a few hundred years before christ's birth.
he could have looked like a lot of different people. just like blk americans do today.
again, i'm not disagreeing with you as such. i don't think jesus could have been anything approaching "lily white" as he is often depicted in the western world today.
BUT it is possibile that he was closer to, say, greek or spanish-looking than straight-up african.
there was just too much miscegenation going on not to take that into account.
