Well yeah, but thats not entirely what I meant. His power base is Republican. it's like a raft in the ocean, he's on their raft right now. If he were to try and build his own, he could very well sink. So in his best interest to politic as he sees it, he's made a pact with the devil. Doing business with evil, to do the business of good. (if that makes sense, but it's just an analogy.)
