started out as a joke and they continue to be a joke. They've been kept alive by whites who want to be a part of inner city music/culture, but not listen to the issues that come along with inner city culture/music. They aren't, nor were they ever pioneers, although they are old school. They did not introduce instrumentation to Hip Hop. The only thing they added to this artform is expanding it's listening base.
