21454, I think we should get on their case Posted by k_orr, Thu Aug-24-00 09:45 AM
>I DON'T THINK THAT WE SHOULD >GET ON THE ROOTS' CASE
Why not. If there is anyone that we should be talking about, it should be the so-called positive/conscious artists taking a leading role in preparing the young folks for revolution.
>BECAUSE THEY PROBABLY HAVE THEIR >OWN CHILDREN AND AT LEAST >THEY ALREADY KICK POSITIVITY IN >THEIR SONGS INSTEAD OF MAKING >A MINT OFF OF BOOTY-ASS >THUG GLORY LYRICS AND THEN
I would hesitate to call them positive, but only in the process of comparing them to other so-called negative artists.
On top of that, you need to actually listen to anyone rocking booty ass thug glory lyrics. Often there is a lot of "conscious" social commentary built into their descriptions.
>WANNA GIVE IT BACK TO >THE KIDS THAT DOESN'T MAKE >SENSE AND UNFORTUNATELY DA ROOTS >DON'T HAVE THE LOOT THAT >MASTER P HAS THOSE KIDS >AIN'T THINKING "OH MASTER P >IS GIVING BACK TO THE >COMMUNITY" THEIR THINKING, 'WOBBLE WOBBLE >OOO SHAKE IT SHAKE IT'
Does it matter what they think?
I'm talking about action, not words.
