>Peace,

>Why is it that some of
>us in the minority community
>idolize thugs?
i dont know, maybe b/c they represent for sum of them all the material things, they do not have. thugs have cars, "ice," women, sex, money~~

Where did we
>determine it was cool to
>look up to a peddler
>of death?
when the peddler began to supply "jobs" to obtain the things heralded in these rap videos and such.

>In Chicago, it was Hoover. In
>New York, Nicky Barnes. In
>DC, Rayful Edmonds. Now...our kids
>idolize the rappers on BET.
>The Cristal-sippin', ice bling blingin',
>Bentley driving MC's with no
>real aim except for you
>to buy their mindless drivel.

sad, but true. and whats even sadder is that, children, our youth r beginning to cut record deals, and sing their heart's greed out for themselves.

>Are we that eager to find
>a leader that we'll accept
>these scraps of garbage?
i dont know if they want these ppl to lead them to anything but economic freedom.

This
>supposed image of the "good
>life"? This tough posturing?
the irony ofcourse being that they complain about the gun shots, the multiple funerals, but yet and still, they want this high on the hog life illegal or not.

What
>happened to thinking your mom
>was a hero? Your dad?
when they didnt get that iced rollie u wanted, just like jigga's~~~

>Your older brother? King, Malcolm,
>Garvey, Carver, Ali, Robinson...hell...even Farakhan?
hmmmmmm, if they even know who these ppl r. how many of our children still read? look at the education systems~~~ they dont learn about their heroes.

>Are you current elders lacking
>the ice, the fly ride,
>the pretty, mindless people that
>revolve around their every word?
>Is that what you idolize?
>A group of mindless automatons?
limelite is blinding.

>fresh...but they had better know
>their school lessons just as
>well. The same fervor a
>kid will sing "Country Grammar",
>we should also enforce that
>the same kid knows proper
>grammar.
vey true indeed, i work w/ Family Servies Inc. w/ the TRAC program, and i can say being there has changed my outlook on many things, in may ways. those children r the most beautiful little beings in this world, they just need sum1 to reinforce that, they just need sum1 to tell them that period.

>It's all about taking it back...and

>be it.
u have my email, if theres anything i can do, maybe even form a trip so that my TRAC kids, can meet sum other youth in D.C...
