pick up any book/article on conflict in modern Africa...
one of the local papers here sent reporters there a few years ago to expose the slave trade there.
in addition to the Amnesty Intl. link someone put up, check out archives at cnn.com or the Baltimore Sun paper, or other national news sources. Most places have done something on the topic in the last five years or so.
also check http://www.allafrica.com for breaking news/developments.
