greetings.
Who is to judge how another person spends his/her wealth? I can dig where you're coming from, because I was of the same mind. But, I realized a few things & evolved my thinking:
1. We are not a monolithic people. Each of us hold different attitudes, especially regarding wealth.
2. Money does not cure all societal ills. Whether some ball-player pours millions into my community or not, the onus is on the people of my community to make a change, do better.
3. As people know better, they do better. Many of today's monied athletes are young (under 25), so, beyond setting up a generic foundation that they pay someone to run for them, their minds may not be wrapped around the idea of tangible change.
4. Each person in his/her own time, not when someone else decides. Give them a chance to evolve.
Its all about perspective. Just thoughts. peace.
