What's the difference between the goals of a Christian soldier with a gun and a Christian missionary with a Bible?

NONE. Both of their goals are the same, the only difference is in their methods.

If you HAD to deal with one or the other, which would you choose?

I'd choose the missionary because to the trained Afrikan warrior/scholar, the necessary response towards both the missionary and the soldier is the same: KEEP OUT OF THE COMMUNITY. A missionary would put up less of a fight other than spouting out fantasy quotes.
