because the music business is a male dominated business, particularly on the record label ownership and production side.

but that's probably only part of it.

many of the women mentioned above didn't grow up with fathers. for instance, little kim's almost unnatural attachment to Biggie (check her interviews) might have been because she did not have a father or a positive father figure to help her grow (yes, i do think that a father can help a girl grow into a woman....but NOT in the same way a mother can AT ALL)

i'm not saying that all women who grow up without a father end up like lil kim/trina/etc. however.

my dad once said that when he sees a girl dressed like a hoochie it's because there was not a man around to tell them that they didn't need to dress like that to attract men. perhaps he's correct.
