seriously. I like being able to go to the grocery store 24 hours a day.

I like movies.

I like CDs.

I like the American infrastructure (roads, water, power, gas, heat, etc.).

...all the really BASIC things we have here. I don't take those for granted. And I know I can't get them anywhere else in the way I have access to them here. I feel really fortunate.

Again, I have to thank my mother for giving me this perspective. Before her trip last year, she was dreaming of moving to Cuba, Haiti...or anyplace where she'd see more brown ppl than white 1s. It took 1 month in East Africa (Tanzania & Zimbabwe) before she saw just how much she depends on things like reliable running water. Even in the capital cities, she saw she wouldn't be able to adapt well.

But that's just me.
