well, knowing what you don't want is the first step....

planning, preperation, patience, and perservance are the things that you need to set and stick to an agenda....we as black folks don't plan, don't prepare, nor perservere, nor are we patient....we talk, talk, we talk, and we talk....or we come up with an idea and half develop it and wanna blame the man when it fails.....or when a setback comes we give up instead of sticking to it and then we blame the man for setting us back....or if the results don't come fast enough we scrap the whole thing.....

you two must understand that change is slow and growth is a process...you must see the long term as well as the short term....and when you don't see things changing as you think they should access and evaluate the situation, before you make any decisions.....you may have to change something, you may have to be patient a little longer.....

continue to educate yourself outside of as well as inside the classroom.....learning should be a life-long process.....just because you in college don't mean you know it all....you never will.....

always be open to new ideas and new ways of doing things....be aware and pay attention to events and happenings around you....

be accepting of others....and seek first to understand, then be understood....

i think that's enough to get you started.....

the journey is everything, once you get were your going....seek a higher level.....there is always a deeper level to be reached...

peace in love,
