about the collective consciousness, the African collective, the African-American collective, White/Euro collective, etc. What about the idea of a collective consciousness that transends all cultures? U know, the notion that we are all one with each other and with God?

Personally I think that if we all wanna peacefully coexist in this world, hell, if we want this world to survive, maybe we should look at all this shite on a much grander scale. Maybe all the mayhem that went down on Sept 11 was a bitter "wake up call to humanity" so to speak, especially for the Western, Capitalist world.
