i feel you completely on this one. i am not african american, but american indian/carib indian and even though i grew up in the states, living in the caribbean now is complete heaven. the racial politics here (in st thomas) are almost nonexistant compared to the ones in milwaukee(where i grew up, 2nd most segregated metropolitan area in the states).
even though i am still a minority here, and will be everywhere i go, i get shown mad love from everyone of EVERY background. the west indian people have accepted me from day one and they don't seem to have nearly as many racial 'complexes' as a lot of minorities in the states(myself included; has helped in the minimization of my issues!!)
