we knew the league owned the team before hand
dan gilbert raises some legit points in his email and i think the owners had the right (legally and from a basketball perspective) to veto the deal
it's really not much deeper than that
keeping CP on the hornets this year is better for the league overall
AS in a small market team
when CP leaves for "nothing" the hornets will actually get cap space
and CP gets to find a team in a fair market as opposed to signing a max deal on a team currently over the cap
