each of these three Shanahan seasons has ultimately decided by three plays. Three huge pass plays that crushed the spirit of the team each year and buried the season;
year 1: Houston at Washington, DeAngelo Hall gives up a huge bomb to Andre Johnson. Lead blown, wind out of our sails and never recovered.
year 2: Washington at Dallas, DeAngelo Hall gives up 3rd&18 to Dez Bryant. Lead blown, wind out of our sails and never recovered.
year 3: Washington at New York, inept secondary gives up huge bomb to Victor Cruz. Lead blown, in a complete free fall since.
What is the same through all of this?
- a secondary void of talent - a defensive coordinator who trusts this corps far too much and refuses to alter his gameplan - a head coach/GM who has failed to address these problems now through three years.
I maintain that these three plays will ultimately be what spells doom for Mike Shanahan. If we stop ANY of these three plays I truly believe everything is different, especially this year.
