Its a read option so he ALWAYS has the option to let Morris get the ball but he keeps it because he's a competitor and he's one of those dudes that just believe his team has a better chance to win if he has the ball.
So they need to start rolling the pocket and not allow him to get hit so damn much. I mean damn that kid is getting killed out here.
