the Knicks in 36 years, the Jets in 40.......so basically you've got the Yankees and their annual 200 million-dollar payroll and the Giants' fluky run last year for recent New York championship representation.

Do you think all of those teams are hampered by some type of curse or are the Mets just second-rate-in-their-own-city choke artists, the Knicks just crippled by bad ownership and the Jets just historically wack?

In the 25 years since a title has been won in Philly, there was exactly one time total in all instances where they actually had the best team on paper and 'should' have won......the 2002 Eagles, unfortunately Donovan was still not all the way back from injury, Gruden outcoached Reid, and Barber picked off the ball to end the game.

Considering the 'any given Sunday' nature of today's NFL, I don't believe one loss equals the entirity of Philly's sports teams being under the spell of a damn statue.

Now go back to worrying about whether the Mets can escape alive or suffer in ignomy by blowing a division lead in September for the second-straight year.
