I don't think he'd waste time writing this piece. I don't think he would get on his soapbox as often as he does. Someone who was apathtic to the plight of our people would just.... ignore our problems (which far too many of our people do), I believe. Maybe I'm naive, I dunno, but I don't think I am. The shit he's saying here isn't too far off from what Cosby (or many other "regular" older black people) says (his shit has a bit more sting and bite to it, though).
