It's sensationalized when it's Pacman Jones, Tank Johnson, Chris Henry, etc who admittedly aren't totally off the radar but who are all far less famous for their play on the field than Vick. So, it's not necessary for you to be "famous" for the stories to have legs. It only requires that ESPN shoves it ya mug all day everyday. They can certainly make stories more or less visible, relevant, etc which can dictate passion or indifference.
