You are saying this having played only one series against an AL East team... a 2-1 series loss to Toronto.
So even with the Tigers poor record against the Yanks, White and Red Sox, they are still ahead of Chicago who I think has actually played an EASIER schedule.
So that goes even further to prove my point that Detroit is doing a better job at winning the games they are supposed to than Chicago is. You can't really fault them for that.
