Expectations and learning curves are different, especially considering the current state of their respective positions

DLo was also widely considered to be more of a gamble with higher upside whereas scouts tended to be more certain of Oak having a far more certain "bottom" as a likely perennial all star who may not have the same upside as Russell.

I.e, Oak was considered more NBA ready from opening tip and Russell was considered to have more growing pains.

Frankly, I'm not surprised by either performance, especially given the, uh, coaching decisions with Russell last night. I don't think most Lakers fans with half a brain expected D to be the second coming of Westbrook or Curry right away.

I don't think it's reasonable at all to expect him to be a top shelf NBA player right away.
