3980, *A Day in the Life/Poverty*
Posted by TheProdigiousPoet, Wed Aug-13-03 06:38 AM
Oddly poverty had become a commodity,
Or a monstrous monopoly,
That epiphany bothered me, I was stricken with this conviction thinking possibly...
Wondering why bother giving her a dollar or two,
She'll forget her toddler and spend my deposit on booze,
So I began to keep walking, wondering what the Father would do...
Faced with a decision, what type of world do we live in,
When women wear the world on their shoulders, and we stare and smolder their feeling,
Trying to get a feel-in...
Heel the children, but the child's heel was filled with mildew from walking in sewage in the basement of a used building...
No shoes no sox, no food no pops...
Then they wonder why we take poprox...
And I know popular music is hot, but when we use it to rob our own people this evil must stop...
She hated life, told me how beautiful death is,
Rap told her ice was tight, but now she can't eat that necklace,
So she told me her death wish...
Let not my son be reckless, and even though they disrespect us,
Let's invest in Texas...
I thought she was high, looked in her eyes, the tears were gone...
Unify, you and he, unity, before I die, promise me...
Obviously poverty had plagued her, she was in need of a savior,
Ten dollars is what I gave her,
And obliged her favor...

I enjoyed every bit of this. You made me want to appreciate the food in my mouth and clothes on my back. Things we take for granted.

4002, poverty=selfishness
Posted by Ezzsential, Sat Aug-23-03 05:37 AM
poeverty is caused by selfishness.

gotta get a nut off (had a kid early) father left because he couldnt deal with responsibility cuz he was SELFISH
gotta get drink on (bills dont get paid)
hurting so I'll continue to fuck random cats (kids are neglected, adn they grow up and do the same thing from their pain of neglect.. so their lives turn into self-fullfilling prophecies
but it all started from selfishness.... that lead to "fill the void" type shit.. that just created lives that were selfish and blossoms whole generations that only meet their own needs... and suffer from a lack of GEBUINE love.. within themselves and without

I'm a H.E.R.B.
Holotyped Existance
Rhetoric Bound

The new me is like: A woman killed in ruffles; falling to the ground with her hair spread out; her wrist secreting ambiant neon blood
Juggling the moon and stars in palms; with the flecks in the eyes turning globes confetti like yearns of non-existant love...
Running in barefoot brooks; with the moon arching its reflection up the aching backs where he holds onto my hips and sways me
my dreams are:
Renewing again amoungst the mating mossrocks stay satiated coining a pith in a breathy palms; so so sappy drenching dreary destiny to bloody toned walls
my heart calls: callused and waving kites colors hues meshing, please feel me- I'm so-so soft- scratching like cat napes, round and female with sun-dresses blowing passion.. kiss the wind swiveling tears on cheeks, the light beams behind my curls, I pose and bleeeeeeed with pain on my sleeve...
engulf: anger, sadness, happiness changing to squared rolling wheels, penetrate the projections of emotional mattresses... I feel open.. constantly.. dream of my transparent body unzipping my skin and stepping out of me.. and I run to cotton-candy padded fields and glow with bliss, and he will wait with his arms open- like that of jesus and view me- patiently...cuz he knows I tripped on my way there and I'm all bruised... ~ me

I've read this once before. This subject was addressed VERY well and this poem would fit nicely in the archives. I think your writing is a good example for me to follow considering my amateur status(Your work is great)
