Feeling ill at ease to feel this way
Love set free from confinement the light at my core
Soothing me in a place unexplored
I let Love into my fortress and from the tower Love sat on high
Love paid attention to details indulging in the panoramic view of my multi-facetness
Affections innocent and unyielding
Sinking into the quick sand of my insecurities
Love surfaced
And from a carafe of sincerity our cup runneth over
Love didn’t gloat that it had conquered me
Pre-dawn ushered in trust
Practicality unwelcomed
Unbridled honesty
An adrenaline rush and affirmation
Feeling fun and funny
Floating on the wings of a fairy
Emancipated from qualifiers
Grown but not all knowing
Love represented the farthest possible extent of both sanity and insanity
But Pixie dust blinded me
Inhibitions betrayed
Love is my hypodermic injection
Inconsistent with reasoning
I lacked mental acuity
Disregarding Love’s toxicity
I continued to figure Love
ASSuming all things were done in the best interest of Love
Now, I write these words releasing Love into the universe
Logically I know it’s best to let go
And I have no regrets
B/c at the highest height of rage Love brought me peace
Inconceivable for a strong sistah
But even the strongest Queen has been weakened by Love
Love will never know this poem was written
And the person that will think it’s written for them will be sadly mistaken
