determined in its flight to

running for cover
blindly turned corner i stepped
in manure instead

hopping one footed
attempting to clean my shoe
I slip falling down

frustrated ego
bruised but not broken i sigh
rise up to move on

bystanders laughing
I feel good inside having
brightened their morning

walking off slowly
rain begins pouring i watch
as nature unfolds

oh wait that is just
a lazy window washer
pissing from above

cloaked in excriment
washed in wasted energy
i stand bewildered

while still above me
the bird circles with bowels full
debating my fate

defeated i wait
the inevitable takes place
