Time After Time
Poet A:
There are times when my tears taste sweet and I can choke down my words about this miserable world
Times when munitions & earth’s collide to play that bitter sweet dirge Of history
Times when the earth stops spinning for a second, when every cloud has a shape, and I can outline it's silver lining with my fingertip. There are times when my heart beats faster and I can inhale the ocean's song. Those are the simplest of moments.
When the stars show signs of hope for tomorrow's yesterday and everything turns to your shade of white. Sometimes you can hear me crying.
It's always after the rain, they say, when the sun can shine it's brightest.
There are times when the air tastes sweeter, as I whisper secrets in its ear. Times when understanding is the last thing on your mind and all you want to do is forget. The horizon lasts all day while I can recall moments of pure perfection Times when stars that fall as soft kisses embrace the shadows and gamble the wind.
There are times when the moon doesn't set and the sun refuses to rise. Times when vowels mean more than words, when letters equal out to romances And sentences sustain sanity. Sometimes I believe in fairy tales, of happiness, love and peace. Greatness envelopes the mountains in ovals and you're left sleeping in the squares.
Then there are times when our eyes look brighter in the dark while sketching out the colors involved, all in black and white.
There are times when I can finally see forever.
Times when things fall apart And on occasion, unexpectedly fall into place And I smile in my sleep Sometimes……
Poet B:
Those times -- When the air tastes like raw sugarcane I discern -- Tart juices of bittersweet pain Hiding teardrops -- As fear drops In camouflaged rain
The stain of sandalwood Creates aromas of change I smell it -- Burning like incense in the wind I tell it: -- "Be flexible when you bend" Spin -- Around adversity & obstacles built by men
For the forces of nature And God's blessings are in our favor Therefore -- I savor Lemon~flavored lessons of life Watching golden sunrises Cutting horizons with a silver knife
Convincing strife that I can handle it Candle it -- Under a flame of romance Cuz every now & then I desire to dance With destiny -- Melting heartbeats with poetic fires Simmering serenity over the rest of me
But it's best to be aware Of irregular weights in external balance Sometimes I tip scales to the left So ~centering~ can be a bit of a challenge But *KnowOne* knows the future And the past is far behind us We keep smiling thru wars & turmoil Praying for love to protect & remind us
(((That Time Heals All Wounds)))
