that used to hold you tight
morning noon and night
so i had to take time
to pay homage
to humble beginnings,
lasting memories
of how i got over
so many times
needing you
to pull me thru
to dry tears
from my face
to make me laugh
when i look back
in amazment
wondering just who
wrote that
it was you most of the time
that just seem
to slide by yourself
commanding me to
hold on till you were through
