yes,sometimes we do voodoo
to keep our feet off the ground
after you hang us
and in the cajun night,

we do spill a little
hot sauce on the sidewalk
while you're beating
the devil out of our heads
(we know it's for our own good)

but we always clean it up
and praise the lord we never ask
for no trouble,it just creeps up
on us like a godawful storm

that's been coming since
the beginning of time,
and we always knew about it
but prayed time would change
its nasty old ways...

I'm pissed about that shit in New Orleans too... as if the neglect were enough, now the so-called protectors of the peace are wailin on innocent victoms in the street... folks who have already endured far too much...

There's no way that I could express my outrage as eloquently as you have here, and I salute you for it.

This is wonderful, in such a heart-breaking way.

This makes me think of something an old poet would say...maybe if Langston was still living he would've wrote something like that...that's a pretty deep little something. I thought I was reading into a stormy interracial relationship...didn't know it was a stormy interracial relationship of the kind we all know so well...not between a man and a woman, but between the two races, black and white. Them's some mighty words...
