11523, Leggos -- Feat. gsquared Posted by PhotoSynthesis, Thu Jul-22-04 12:49 PM
We're just building -- Thas' all -- *smiles*
/ / gsquared / / The mortar is well the well is deep the depth is infinite Fingers grip God held in hand's palm a joyful psalm
Doubts fly kites birds fly right and keys dangle
Clouds gather heat squeezes synergy beckons
reckonings breathe and singularities whistle through the lungs of nature's ghetto
\\ PhotoSynthesis //
Endless skies swell above eternal peace A peace that passeth all understanding Reprimanding logic I see -- With eyes closed
Visions dilate pupils Opening windows to select souls Insight ensues
Clarity conceives Complexity recedes Cognition bears food 4 thought
Baptism in life's storms sprinkles infant insecurities With fertile sustenance Growth is unavoidable
/ / gsquared / /
And the void is unvoidable seething potential black expanses sizzling energy crackles Spackling the doors of perception with immaculate conceptions fetal whirlwinds spin momentary blisses around tender kisses punctuating days and lending credence to the night around every corner and just out of sight something awaits me

Damn! You always have the most beautiful lines, that was one of my favourites amongst many. Gsquared you also had some cool lyrics, I better keep an eye out for your work from now on.
Nice Guys
"The middle of the night/We fight like barbarians/In the sight of the former might/You think that it's a waste/Of our time/ And I think you would be right/ Till he drops the rhyme" The Roots in "guns are Drawn" in "The Tipping Point"
"If pain had smoke like fire, the world would be in darkness forever. If you search the whole world you would not find a wise man that is happy."
Abul Said-eh Abul Khair ( An 11th century sufi poet)
"Peace to my people who need pure hip-hop to breathe." -Black Thought
"To those who can't understand my music......I don't realy make it for you" -Black Thought
To MC requires skills, I demand some shown" -Black Thought
"Make yourself free from self at one stroke! Like a sword be without trace of soft iron; Like a steel mirror, scour off all rust with contrition." - Rumi
"From the moment you entered this world of existence, A ladder was put in front of you so you could escape" -Rumi

so...do i really need to say anything, photo?? *winks* fo real though, this is a good piece. I liked that it wasn't too long, (I don't have time these days) but it showcased both your talents nicely...aight, you COULD make it a lil longer *winks*

11534, you know Posted by delsbrothergeorge, Fri Jul-23-04 02:03 PM

nice collab.

11535, RE: you know Posted by PhotoSynthesis, Fri Jul-23-04 02:37 PM
Perceptive of you DBG -- *smiles*
Leggo's -- That's what it felt like -- Building with "word" blocks -- Yet contained within EACH block was a concept or idea -- Carefully locked into a short verse.
I'm glad YOU understood the concept boo! -- *wink*
Some ppl thought we were just being LAZY with the title -- But there WAS a method to the madness -- And a reason to the rhyme! -- *wink*
Thanks for the peep! -- ;^)

11536, RE: you know Posted by guest, Sat Jul-24-04 02:59 PM
I think that's what I enjoy about your pieces (or part of it-) always method to the madness...and intellect to the imagery *smiles* *buildin a tower of leggos to put this on and make it go ^UP^*

11545, hi... Posted by Natalie, Mon Jul-26-04 10:56 AM
i like the title. photo, nice middle -- the compactness of it and the way it builds into g's ending section. i'm a little confused by this part, g:
"Doubts fly kites birds fly right and keys dangle
Clouds gather heat squeezes synergy beckons
reckonings breathe and singularities whistle through the lungs of nature's ghetto"
is it possible to get a breakdown, especially on the last section?
peace,
n.

11546, RE: hi... Posted by gsquared, Mon Jul-26-04 07:32 PM
...setting a kite out w/ a key attached to try to find something electrical, transcendant, powerfully energetic, a new invention even, in the mind...the last part about respiration and sound, a collective breathing and subsequent whistling musical....and even cities, kinda paved and dirty, are of nature...
"During the day – I swim with Dolphins At sunset – I sprout wings and soar with eagles & nocturnal owls And at twilight – I retreat to the safety of Mother Earth’s womb As Father time comforts & heals Love’s wounds So once again I can skip across painted poetic stones Leaving footprints in the bottom of hourglass sands Rejoice in renewal -- Bow down -- Fold hands --"

For makin' me step "OUTSIDE" Da Box -- And outside my regular comfort zone steelo! -- ;^) -- If we had posted my original flow, I don't think I would've been happy with the final outcome.
I just NEEDED that push in the "Twilight Zone" direction! -- *chuckles*
And thanks to everyone who showed us love! -- *smiles*

11549, RE: Leggos -- Feat. gsquared Posted by Instant Axis, Mon Jul-26-04 07:57 PM
i honestly didnt think Photo could take it to where G takes it and well....i was soooo wrong...this was really well laid and the way Photo matched G in the abstractness was masterfully done...you both meshed together and if i was to read without the names i dont think i could figure who was who...it was that good..2 very talented heads coming together for and archivable piece...niceness...peace.
|
11550, Did Somebody Say ARCHIVE? -- ;^) Posted by PhotoSynthesis, Tue Jul-27-04 03:09 AM
>2 very talented heads coming together for an archivable piece...niceness...peace.
Shameless SECOND THAT EMOTION! -- *giggles*
By the way Ax -- Didn't you notice -- "G's" finished product looks like a "Transformer" -- while mine looks like a leggo crash dummy or summm shit -- *chuckles*
I think I pulled it off aaiiight tho -- *wink*
Thanx for your comments & support! -- (((Much Appreciated)))

11551, RE: Leggos -- Feat. gsquared Posted by guest, Mon Jul-26-04 08:43 PM
This is just so sweet right here:
reckonings breathe and singularities whistle through the lungs of nature's ghetto
makes me think: "singularities whistle" strained like a tea kettle leaves settle grief howls like the last train through the night "of nature's ghetto"
inspired by your rhyme hope you don't mind

"fetal whirlwinds spin momentary blisses around tender kisses punctuating days and lending credence to the night around every corner and just out of sight something awaits me"
^^^very nice, gsquared. Beautiful words, sound, & rhyme.
Photo, you've done some very nice collabos...you know how to pick 'em. :-)

11553, Thank You LCD -- ;^) Posted by PhotoSynthesis, Sun Aug-01-04 02:42 PM
>Photo, you've done some very nice collabos...you know how to pick 'em. :-)
It's funny yaknow -- Cuz when I sent gsquared my original verse -- He told me str8 up he didn't like it! -- *HuH?* -- He was like: "I need you to dig down deeper and pull up some "OTHER SHYT" on another level -- (A Different Level)
I was like: *Boo Hoo* -- WTF does he want?!?! -- ;^(
But when he provided me with HIS verse -- I picked up HIS vibe and flowed from it, nahmean?
I guess I'm a better follower than leader -- *chuckles*
