>i make music for me,
yeah, i understand that. but i'm tryin' to understand what's important to you when you make me-oriented music.
so, i'll re-post, do you:
A) make music independant of outside pressure then after the product's complete, hope that it'll have commercial success
B) make music while simultaneously considerin' what's necessary for commercial appeal
from your replies, it seems like you want a larger audience, which is understandable. but how much did this affect the whole production process? i mean, while phrenology was movin' along the creative pipeline, were you askin' yourself, "does this sound good to me?" or "i wonder if this will sound good to 106 & parkers?" i'm just curious. >but i am well aware of the consequences.
