i'll Be Dammed to pay a RED cent to surf a web site. What the fuck is that bullshit. And as far as the front page being a advertsiting agency, thats exactly what it is. i have been surfing the site since 97 and that all its been. Until i started to heavy post i didn't even come here for weeks at a time. For more info read this straight from the about section:

Okayplayer.com is not in the business of building static, impersonal websites, therefore an artist must participate at some level, whether it is posting to the boards, allowing Okayplayer.com access to private events or sending in exclusive audio tracks. Some artists may not feel like they can maintain this level of commitment.

Unfortunately, there are also some artists who do not yet realize the potential of the Internet. Of course, if you happen to meet an artist you feel would fit in here, feel free to ask them, "Hey…why don't you have a site on Okayplayer.com?"
