I think more than anything, especially with high speed internet, it's so easy to accumulate a great deal of music "just because". I have albums I've never even listened to. So while I agree music can be treated as disposable now, I disagree that purchased music is less disposable. If I have an album that sucks, MP3 or CD, I'll listen 2-3 times and then do away with it however I need to. That may be selling it, letting it sit in my room for months, or letting it fester in the depths of my hard drive.
That being said, while I do download copius amounts of music, some of which I've never even heard, I would have never heard/bought that music in the first place, so I can't really be at moral odds with downloading it. THAT being said, I do buy music from artists I support (The Roots, Common, Tool, Outkast, etc.) I will buy Game Theory. Hopefully I have a job by late August.
