I heard that Bread and Butter was an exclusive overseas bonus track for Game Theory.

42312, well thats some bulllshit. Posted by HighVoltage, Tue Jul-25-06 09:55 AM
how did "2 throwaways" turn into 1.. or zero actually since this is the bonus track on the UK release.
|
42313, RE: well thats some bulllshit. Posted by Bialy, Tue Jul-25-06 11:05 AM
whats worse is that after you pay to download it its not even an mp3. itunes blows.
|
42314, it wasn't ever MP3, even before you paid. Nice going. Posted by JahLogical, Wed Jul-26-06 12:00 AM

Well, if one were to somehow locate a complete version of a program called "Tunebite", said person could convert any m4p to mp3, ogg or wma format.

Anyone know if this is available in the iTunes Canada store as well? I know that someone mentioned Organix was in iTunes, but I couldn't find it in the Canadian store.

42317, Edited?? Posted by Approaching, Tue Jul-25-06 11:09 AM

|
42318, RE: Edited?? Posted by rather unique, Tue Jul-25-06 12:54 PM
this is fucking dissappointing

42319, There is an explicit ver. Posted by The Provoken, Wed Jul-26-06 05:48 PM
Just search for it on I-Tunes.

42320, Just buy Bread and Butter and... Posted by handle, Tue Jul-25-06 01:07 PM
Find the promo vinyl for Here I Come/In The Music and the one for Don't Feel Right.
99 cents for a bonus track is a good price.
As for edited, do what I do and curse alot before and after playing. It evens out.

42321, But aren't Bonus Tracks usually... Posted by westloop, Tue Jul-25-06 01:33 PM
...free? Hence the term.
|
42322, RE: But aren't Bonus Tracks usually... NO!!!! Posted by handle, Tue Jul-25-06 01:45 PM
You are thinking of: FREE tracks or Promotional Tracks
Bonus tracks are EXTRA tracks not available on the same thing in other formats.
Examples: Devo's 'Total Devo' casette had two remixes of songs not on the CD. Those were bonus tracks, but only on the cassette. The Roots The Tipping Point has an additional track on the Euro and japanese versions. Those are bonuses.
Hell, The Smiths and Morriseey, Bjork and Beck and Depeche Mode have half of their "canons" as bonus tracks. But they aren't free.
|
42323, the problem was questo hypin us up by saying 'throwaway' Posted by HighVoltage, Tue Jul-25-06 02:21 PM
the real issue here is throwaway is not the same as bonus, because bonus STILL makes the album.
this is very disappointing, im not gonna lie.
at least my plan was to put the throwaways at the end of GT to make the album longer, but not gonna work now.
|
42324, what, exactly, is disappointing? Posted by el_rey, Wed Jul-26-06 11:31 AM
I don't get it.
|
42325, na, see the problem Posted by nextmovement, Thu Jul-27-06 12:28 AM
is that you heard the album FIRST and then got hyped to hear the EP, but then 3/4 of the EP was from the album and you got disappointed.
for those (maybe few) of us who refrained from listening to the leak, we got the EP first, which in turn has made us even more hyped to listen to the rest of the album when it comes out, cuz the EP shit is new and hot to us. i'm pretty sure that was the point of putting out the EP.
|
42326, not true at all Posted by HighVoltage, Thu Jul-27-06 01:05 AM
>is that you heard the album FIRST and then got hyped to hear >the EP, but then 3/4 of the EP was from the album and you got >disappointed.
i was disappointed because they said the EP would be 5 tracks, 3 of which are on the album, the other 2 being ones that didnt make the cut.
and the EP turned out to be 4 tracks, 4 of which are on the album (im counting the european version here for Bread and Butter)
|
42327, in the music and brad and butter are on constant repeat Posted by Iltigo, Tue Jul-25-06 01:16 PM
why did they take bread and butter off the album?

high praise - believe that
|
42329, no way Posted by Troubled Spirits, Tue Jul-25-06 03:55 PM
I disagree. I think "Bread and Butter" is just as strong as most of the tracks on Game Theory, and it would have fit perfectly, musically and lyrically, in the context of the album.

Yeah, Dice raw had the hottest track on Game Theory on "Here I Come." I don't think Game Theory comes close to The Roots previos work. I'm still buyin it though. I get a little compulsive about having the whole discography and all. "Bread and Butter" sounds better to me then alot of the stuff on Game Theory, which in my opinion needs all the help it can get. Okay...so where can I buy the UK version? Why is the UK getting an extra "bonus" Roots track? Do I have to buy a plane ticket before I buy this album?

i think this track is just so-so. doesn't spark my interest one bit. but the album sounds really good. i dig that. i wouldn't be disappointed if they left this track off the us release. just mo.
|
42343, Pre-Game is fire!!!!! Posted by bwood, Fri Jul-28-06 11:23 PM
This EP is excellent and whets my hunger for Game Theory (yep I'm the last nigga in the US who didn't download that album.) My only compliant is that it's so short once I put this in it's done.
|
42344, RE: i'm the biggest roots fan on the planet but... Posted by tazbk, Sat Jul-29-06 03:06 PM
I get tired of them leaving stuff off their album. I need the Roots to release a collection of stuff they did that never saw the light of day. Hell they record like 45-50 songs for every album and we always get 10-14 tracks tops. I'm pretty sure a lot of that stuff they left off is dope. On a side note, since you are the biggest Roots fan please tell me what song number 80 is. I've been trying to figure that out for a minute now.
>i think this track is just so-so. doesn't spark my interest >one bit. but the album sounds really good. i dig that. i >wouldn't be disappointed if they left this track off the us >release. just mo.

42345, #80 Posted by Troubled Spirits, Sat Jul-29-06 03:12 PM
Is the hidden track on Disc 1 of "The Roots Come Alive"
|
42346, RE: #80 Posted by tazbk, Sat Jul-29-06 03:52 PM
Thank you kind sir. Do you have a track title?
|
42347, RE: #80 Posted by handle, Tue Aug-01-06 03:48 AM
#80 is actually hidden between tracks 78. and 79. on The Roots Come Alive. It consists of three seperate parts I describe as:
80. (Live at The T-Bone Connect continues) ,(Stop The Violence live with didjeridoo), New Year's @ Jay Dee's
New Year's @ Jay Dee's is also on certain versions of the You Got Me single from Europe.
