The performance was amazing... but I felt that they didn't mix you guys that well ( all I could hear was Black Thought's vocals and Questo's drums)

but from what I heard, Black Though And Questo killed it.

maybe if I was there, it would have been good as a Roots fan.... but on TV, and as a Roots fan, I didnt like it. Black THought was mumbling on the mic, and the music was not.. 'clear'.... it all sounded mumbled.

I think you guys do a real dis-service to yourself by not playing more accesible songs on big performances like this. Maybe you want to do things your way, and thats cool, I cant knock that, but I dont think you gained many new fans with this performance.

A friend did tell me she thinks BT goes too fast and she usuanlly can't understand him.

Far as casual listeners I know she and I have good convo and she's very up on ol school and ready to learn about the new stuff. Sound mix - D (You could barely hear the guitar or keyboards. Not the fault of the band I'm sure.)

The shitty sound mix wasn't enough to take away from the high energy performance. I loved it!! I Teevoed and played it 3 times already!

I have to def agree you did kill it!!! I always watch the live shows on tv and hope that there will be a guest mc come out like when I am at a concert although I know it won't happen. Honestly it would be crazy to be on letterman and have DiceRaw and Malik B wander out but someday I will kepe hoping, bc it would bug out the host for sure!!

it was a dope performance, but the sound was very bad by roots standard.

not clear.. barely heard kirk. all i heard was quest, riq and a muddy humm of the melody.

the energy was dope, preformance was good but the sound was way off, atleast through my tv set.

I saw yall on CBS, but the dude interviewing them was so corny, I almost couldnt watch it to the performance itself. He was like Tiger Woods and Bryan Gumble rolled in one dude. They killed Here I Come, and the dude said something corny like, "That'll Wake You Up in the morning." And then he called BT by his government. Like Black Thought was too militant for TV or something.. I was cracking up. BT just looked like if you dont get your Uncle Tom ass away from me....But I understand that the Roots gotta get the message out by any means necessary, so I understand.

I had to leave that on there. letterman is a cool guy, but his show is the pits. The segemtns jsut before The Roots came on were worse than ANYTHING SNL has ever done in the last 30 minutes of their show.
